Service Description

In-Class session with exam: 6 to 8 hours. Class locations and dates vary within Canada. BASICS.fst® is a food safety training course for food handlers. The course will help workers learn important information about food safety. It will help them to do their job better and is based on CFIA and Health Canada Regulations including Canadian food retail and food service codes. - Successful completion of the class and exam results in BASICS.fst® certification - Taught by registered TrainCan Trainer- Includes course book and exam scantron response sheet Any person who works with food should study BASICS.fst® – from the person that receives the food to the person who packages or serves the food. Course Objectives: The primary objective of this food safety course is to provide participants with the information required to insure employee and customer safety, and to reduce the liability of businesses. This course is presented in 13 units. Evaluation Process: A supervised/proctored in class examination is held. A passing score of 74% is required to receive a BASICS.fst® certificate. RETURN & REFUND POLICY If there is not enough interest for an in-class session, we may cancel and refund prior to the published class date. We will communicate any minor scheduling changes to make sure students can attend a new class date; otherwise, changes by the instructor to original dates will be 100% refunded unless agreed upon ahead of time in writing by the student. No other cancellation or refunds are permitted by students once a course is booked. Results for in class sessions are sent within one week from the time the examinations are received at TrainCan for marking. Results are sent to Trainers who are responsible for giving students their scores.
